Car Catches Fire After Crash In Universal City

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― Three people, including a child, escaped injury Tuesday night when the compact car they were in burst into flames following a traffic collision in the Universal City area, a fire spokesman said.

The crash of two compact cars occurred at 5:26 p.m. in the 3700 block of Barham Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the city fire department.

The collision "appears to have ruptured a fuel line, sparking a blaze that destroyed one car and lightly damaged the other," he said.
