Red Flag Wildfire Warning Issued For Thursday

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the mountain and forest areas of the Southland, signifying a high risk of wildfire.

The National Weather Service said the warning, which was issued because of single-digit humidity levels and high temperatures -- will remain in effect until 6 p.m.

According to meteorologists, the heat is being caused by a strong upper-level high-pressure system over the Southland. However, a low-pressure system should bring slightly cooler temperatures and higher humidity to the region by Friday.
