Pacific Storm Expected To Hit Late Thursday
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
A Pacific storm just off the central coast of California is expected to hit Los Angeles late Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
There is a 40% chance that rain will begin falling in the Los Angeles region at about midnight. There is also a 70% chance of showers on Friday, according to the National Weather Service's Bonnie Bartling.
About a third of an inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain could fall on south-facing slopes, Bartling said.
There's also a slight chance of thunderstorms that could produce heavy rain, gusty winds, funnel clouds, waterspouts and lightning, Bartling said. To top it off, there is a chance of light snow in elevations of 6,500 feet or higher.
The rain is expected to clear out by Saturday night, leaving partly cloudy skies on Easter Sunday.
"The Easter egg hunts won't need to be canceled," Bartling said. "And the sun will be back on Monday."
