MySpace Helps Police Nab Monkey Theft Suspects

WASHINGTON, Pa. (CBS) ― Local authorities found a man suspected of stealing two monkeys from a wildlife compound thanks to his MySpace page.

Washington County prosecutors say 19-old Steven Labore, of Vestaburg, was living with his father in Lexington Park, Md., and posted that on his MySpace page.

Authorities had been looking for him for nine months.

Labore and Michael Naylor, of Rices Landing, were charged with taking the monkeys from Wild World of Animals in November.

The monkeys were returned several hours later.

Police say the teenagers apparently thought marijuana was being grown in the greenhouse where the monkeys were kept.

Naylor was sentenced in July to 2 to 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary and related charges.
