WeHo Halloween Costume Carnaval Street Closures
WEST HOLLYWOOD
With thousands of costumed revelers expected to descend on West Hollywood for the annual Halloween Costume Carnaval, motorists were warned today to expect street closures this weekend in the heart of the city.
The event, billed as one of the world's largest Halloween celebrations, will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday along Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard.
The following streets will be closed for the event:
-- Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega and Doheny, from 1 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday;
-- Robertson Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, from 1 p.m. Saturday, through 6 a.m. Sunday;
-- San Vicente Boulevard between Cynthia Street and Melrose, from 2 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday;
-- La Cienega between Holloway Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard, from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday;
-- Sunset Boulevard eastbound and westbound turn lanes onto La Cienega Boulevard, from 6 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday; and
-- La Peer Drive eastbound turn lane onto Santa Monica Boulevard, from 3 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday.
Permit parking will be suspended from 5 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. City officials warned, however, that parking restrictions will still be enforced in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, so motorists should be wary of where they are parking.
West Hollywood will offer a CityLine shuttle from 5:30 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday along Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega and Fuller Avenue.
More information on closures and parking is available online at www.weho.org/halloween or by calling the Halloween Carnaval Hotline at (323) 848-6307.
