L.A. Marathon: Dodger Stadium To Santa Monica

Downhill Stadium-To-The-Sea Route Loses 400 Feet In Elevation

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― This spring's 25th edition of the Los Angeles Marathon will start at Dodger Stadium and end 26.2 miles later on the beach in Santa Monica.

And times will likely be faster: The downhill stadium-to-the-sea route loses 400 feet in elevation from start to finish.

The marathon's route will be released Monday, and some 25,000 runners are expected for the March 21 event.

The route takes runners from the stadium to City Hall, then west through Echo Park, Silver Lake, Hollywood, West Hollywood. Beverly Hills, Century City, Brentwood and Santa Monica.

It's the first time the race leaves Los Angeles city limits.
