A Workout Fit For A Firefighter

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― TheĀ CrossFit is perhaps the hardest and most effective workout you can get. That's because it was designed to train employees for one of the more physically challenging jobs around.

Jeff Hughes is the fire captain of the Orange County Fire Authority. He also owns this gym, CrossFit Orange County.

Hughes says a few years who, he was stuck in the dark ages of training his academy recruits. Usually they ran and lifted weights. Hughes himself biked, swam, and ran up to 30 hours a week...but he wasn't really fit, until he discovered CrossFit.

The CrossFit workouts can last anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour. It's important to note, this isn't a fad workout. CrossFit devotees say it's a way of life. You have to live out the pain, to see the gain....and be ready to sweat more than you ever thought you could!
