European Furniture, Art To Be Auctioned Off

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― Hundreds of pieces of European furniture and art collected by one of Newport Beach's most wealthy women will go on the auction block Sunday.

Porcelain figurines, gilded mirrors, Baroque-style music stands and European paintings are among the lot of 300 pieces from the estate of Harbor Island resident and philanthropist Elizabeth Colyear Vincent to be sold off by Bonhams & Butterfields. Colyear Vincent died Feb. 1 at age 94 after 30 years as a resident in Newport's tony Harbor Island.

Colyear Vincent had an eye for all things Baroque, bronze gilt and porcelain.

The auction will include a variety of very special pieces, like a pair of Napoleon III gilt bronze surtouts de table from the mid 19th century, valued at $15,000 to $20,000.

The auction begins at noon Sunday. Items can be previewed on Bonhams website.
