Peanut Sniffing Dogs Aid The Allergic
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
Thousands of young children are allergic, deathly so, to peanuts and foods containing peanuts.
And many of those children end up in emergency rooms every year.
Or worse.
Man's best friend has a new responsibility. Dogs are already trained to help blind people see and deaf people hear. They're trained to find drugs.
Now, their sensitive noses have a whole new use! There are peanut sniffing dogs.
Lisa Sigell reports on the Colorado Springs mom who has come up with a unique program to help all those kids suffering with peanut allergies.
