United iPods, Thin Laptop and New Firefox Browser

(CBS) United Hooks Up With iPod

The airline is equipping all of it's transatlantic widebody aircraft with an iPod connector.  You'll be able to charge your iPod in flight, and watch your own video content on a seatback screen.  You also get access to your own music.  The only bummer is that the program is limited to one plane right now and it's for first and business class.

Firefox 3 Ready To Download

(AP) - The new version of the Firefox Web browser became available as a free download Tuesday.

Firefox comes from Mozilla, an open-source community in which thousands of people, mostly volunteers, collectively develop free products. Firefox is the No. 2 Web browser behind Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer.

Firefox 3 includes enhancements to help users organize their frequently visited Web sites and block access to sites known to distribute viruses and other malicious software.

Firefox 3 also offers other design and speed improvements.

Toshiba Make Really Thin Laptop

The company expanded their Portege R500 line to include a new laptop with a 128 GB solid state hard drive.  Like that "other" light laptop, this one is also about 3/4 of an inch thick but weighs less than 3 pounds.  There's also a built in DVD drive.  Also cool here is that you can turn off the backlit screen and still see it in direct sunlight.  Model Portégé R500-S5007V, $3000.
