Hotel Website Says What Room To Reserve

(CBS) Tripkick's founders have quite the job ahead of them.  They're constantly visiting hotels to find out more about them - specifically the rooms!

Their website decodes the room numbers for popular properties around the US.  Look up a hotel and there is the basic information, such as parking prices and WiFi costs, but then you also get a glimpse into quiet rooms, corner/oversized rooms, rooms with a view, rooms to avoid and even rooms with great bathrooms!

It's an ambitious plan by the young founders to empower travelers - but gathering the information won't be easy!  So far they have 250 hotels listed in 10 US destinations - they hope to add one destination a month.  But to get that info, they have to pound the pavement themselves, visiting hotels and finding out all this insider info.

We went to the W Hotel in Westwood to chat with a spokesperson - she said that guests can indeed request specific room numbers, but getting a specific room isn't guaranteed.
