Google Adds Face Recognition To Picasa

(CBS) Our digital photo collections are growing and organizing those pictures can take forever.  Not if you use Google's Picasa photo software.

It now includes a feature that recognizes people.  The web app scans your pictures for similar faces.  All you have to do is match the names once and your pictures get tagged with the right labels.

The process works by taking measurements, and although it's good - it's not perfect.

The software makes it possible to search for and share pictures based on who's in them.  You can also make on-the-fly slideshows featuring just the people you want to see.

One more way Google helps us search.
