Website Uses Video Chat To Teach Languages Online

(CBS) When I first heard about eduFire, I didn't think much about it because the concept is so simple.  Language teachers meet students online via webcam for one-on-one tutoring sessions.

It's only when I really started to think about the implications of the site that I realized how neat it is.

First off, any teacher can sign up to teach on the site, and set their own rate.  There's no traveling involved to tutor so you can probably fit in two sessions where you used to do only one.

Students get to pick from a wide range of teachers and prices.  Plus, geography is not an issue - either person can be anywhere in the world and the process still works.  Talk about a home based business!

We met up with a french teacher who is using the site, plus founder Jon Bischke.  All you need is a computer and web cam to get started - as a teacher or student.  The site takes a small commission from each session.
