Talking Goat Hopes To Chat Up Book Sales

(CBS) Hilda might just be the first thing many visitors see when they enter this year's Book Expo America.

She's an interactive talking goat!

Publisher Next Chapter Press is hoping the cartoon-like display will drum up interest in their first book, "Cole Family Christmas."

The setup consists of a TV screen with a cartoon-like animation of a goat.  A behind-the-scenes actor interacts with guests through the help of cameras and microphones.

Topanga Canyon based 3DSite pioneered the technology - which can also be used to make movies and cartoons.
