Newport Beach Doctor Has Surplus Of H1N1 Flu Shots

 Complete Coverage: Swine Flu

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (CBS) ― One Newport Beach pediatrician is wealthy – not in money, but in H1N1 flu vaccine.

Dr. Steven Abelowitz managed to gather a veritable treasure trove of swine flu vaccine – 15,000 doses. And even though he's giving his patients and medical group members priority, he's willing to let go of a dose on a first come, first serve basis for a mere $20 each.

Dr. Abelowitz has averaged giving out 300 doses a day since gathering his store of H1N1 vaccine. He says his charge of $20 each covers insurance and storage costs.

Patients who fit the high-risk criteria should not call his office, but are welcome to contact Dr. Abelowitz for a shot through his website.
