Hawaii Oh-No! CS-Fullerton Hoops Upset In Honolulu

HONOLULU (AP) ― Brent Benson scored 25 points to lead Texas State to a 76-66 win over Cal State Fullerton Friday night in the opening game of the round-robin Tip-Off Classic.

Emmanuel Bidias a Moute came off the bench to score 18 points in the second half for the Bobcats (1-0) . Gerard Anderson led the Titans (0-1) with 21 points.

Texas State shot 46 percent from the field in the first half to take a 40-23 lead.

Cal State Fullerton cut the Bobcats' lead to five on Ty Goughs five-foot turnaround banker with 12:45 left in the second half. But they could get no closer.

The Bobcats of the Southland Conference shot 47 percent from the field for the game. The Titans of the Big West Conference were held to 37 percent from the field, including just 2-of-19 on 3-point attempts.
