NFL Power Rankings: Week 6

Week 6 was a bad week to be a good team.  Of the Top 10 in last week's rankings, three had byes, and seven lost.  Wondering where your favorite team sits now, and how they ended up there?

- Tennessee Titans (5-0) Bye - The lone undefeated team moved up a spot thanks to the Giants loss.  Last week: 2.

- Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1) Bye - Moved up two spots thanks to losses by team ranked higher.  Last week: 4.

- Buffalo Bills (4-1) Bye - That loss in Arizona last week doesn't look so bad now, does it? Last week: 7.

- New York Giants (4-1) Loss at Cleveland - A larger drop in the rankings was only saved by the fact that everyone else who played lost too.  Last week: 1.

- Dallas Cowboys (4-2) Loss at Arizona - Losing in Arizona is not so embarrassing now, so they don't drop.  But the future does not look bright. Last week: 5.

- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) Win over Carolina - A blowout win over a good team fires the unpredictable Bucs into the top 10. Last week: 12.

- Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) Win at San Francisco - A nice comeback win on the road without their star running back bodes well for when he returns. Last week: 11.

- Arizona Cardinals (4-2) Win over Dallas - Arizona has two monster wins in-a-row and the West nearly wrapped up. Last week: 16.

- Washington Redskins (4-2) Home loss to St. Louis - Losing is bad. Losing at home is worse.  Losing at home to the worst team in the league is a disaster. Last week: 3.

- Indianapolis Colts (3-2) Win over Baltimore - Maybe the Ravens are terrible, but a 31-3 whooping over anyone is pretty good. Last week: 15.

- Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3) Win at Denver - Anytime you win at Denver is a a big deal, and the Jags won pretty easily.  Last week: 13.

 - Atlanta Falcons (4-2) Win over Chicago - Matt Ryan is going to develop a "clutch" reputation very fast. Last week: 21.

- Chicago Bears (3-3) Loss at Atlanta - The Bears handed this game to the Falcons, but the Falcons may be really good. Last week: 10.

- San Diego Chargers (3-3) Win over New England - The Chargers weren't pretty but they got the win basically without LDT. Last week: 14.

- Denver Broncos (4-2) Home loss to Jacksonville - They lost to a good team so they don't drop far, but losses at home are no-no's. Last week: 8.

- Carolina Panthers (4-2) Loss at Tampa Bay - They lost 27-3.  Ouch. Last week: 6.

- New England Patriots (3-2) Loss at San Diego - All things considered, 3-2 and being one-game out isn't bad, but they were punchless and had no defense (again).  Last week: 9.

- Cleveland Browns (2-3) Win over New York Giants - They handled the Giants pretty easily on both sides of the ball; welcome back Mr. Anderson. Last week: 26.

- New York Jets (3-2) Win over Cincinnati - Favre is getting used to his new system, though it's still a little clunky out there.  Watch out in 4-5 weeks.  Last week: 20.

 - Minnesota Vikings (3-3) Win over Detroit - They deserve a tie on their record after this miserable performance against a team that bad. Last week: 19.

- Green Bay (3-3) Win at Seattle - A dominating road win with a new QB with a hurt throwing shoulder - they grow 'em tough in Green Bay. Last week 23.

 - Miami Dolphins (2-3) Loss at Houston - How do you play no line-backers on the goal line with :07 left? Last week: 17.

- Baltimore Ravens (2-3) Loss at Indianapolis - Three losses in-a-row.  Is Trent Dilfer officially retired for real? Last week: 18.

- New Orleans Saints (3-3) Win over Oakland - This win may deserve more credit considering Brees' play, but it was over Oakland. Last week: 24.

- San Francisco 49ers (2-4) Home loss to Philadelphia - This was a huge win for the 49ers until they allowed 23 fourth quarter points.  Last week: 22.

- Houston Texans (1-4) Win over Miami - The Texans were much better than their 0-4 record.  Now they are a little better than their 1-4 start. Last week: 27.

- St. Louis Rams (1-4) Win at Washington - A new coach and now a winning streak!  Don't count on any 2 or 3 game streaks though.  Last week: 32.

- Seattle Seahawks (1-4) Home loss to Green Bay - First the Sonics leave, and now this.  Ugh. Last week: 25.

- Kansas City Chiefs (1-4) Bye - Can't lose if you don't play...good thinking!  Last week: 31.

- Oakland Raiders (1-4) Loss at New Orleans - If Tom Cable isn't the answer as the new head coach, I just don't know what is! Last week: 30.

- Cincinnati Bengals (0-6) Loss at New York Jets - I want to believe that the Bengals are better than this (and it's not just because Palmer is my fantasy QB), but they keep losing to everyone. Last week: 28.

- Detroit Lions (0-5) Loss at Minnesota - Blame the refs if you want, but does anyone really believe the Lions deserved to win...or that the Vikings did for that matter. Last week: 29.
