Shannon Brown Officially Signs With Lakers

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― From the Lakers:

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent guard Shannon Brown, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak.  Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

Brown, who was acquired by the Lakers on February 7, 2009 as part of a trade with the Charlotte Bobcats, appeared in 18 regular season games with Los Angeles, averaging 3.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.6 minutes.  In six games in April, however, Brown nearly doubled his averages with 6.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 14.5 minutes.

In the postseason, Brown appeared in 21 games, averaging 4.9 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 13.1 minutes while posting three double-figure scoring games and converting 12-of-25 three-point field goals (.480).

Originally selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 25th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Brown, a 6'4" guard out of Michigan State, has appeared in 92 games over three NBA seasons, averaging 4.2 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 10.0 minutes.
