About 2,000 mourners turned out Friday for the Catholic funeral Mass for USC kicker Mario Danelo.
Danelo's body was found at the bottom of the Oceanside cliffs near his home in San Pedro.
Not all of the mourners fit into Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. The service lasted nearly two hours.
U.S. Coach Pete Carroll eulogized Danelo as did the kicker's older brother Joey and his high school coach, Mike Walsh. They said Danelo lived a happy life and often said he was living a dream.
Walsh said Danelo was the first San Pedro High School player to go on to USC.
