The AVP Tour is reducing ticket prices for two pro beach volleyball tournaments in Southern California by 50 percent.
The tour announced the decision Tuesday as a way to boost sales during the economic downturn.
Courtside seats for the Manhattan Beach Open on July 16-19 are $40 for the weekend and $25 on Friday. General admission is free.
Courtside seats for the Hermosa Beach Open on Aug. 6-9 are $35 for the weekend and $25 on Friday. Weekend general admission tickets are $15 and $10 on Friday. Tickets for youth under 18 are $10 on the weekend and $5 Friday.
Chief marketing officer Paul Tedeschi says the AVP Tour anticipates full stands for both tournaments, but it wants to offer beach volleyball fans a price break.
