Officers pursued a stolen car and possible kidnapping suspect from the 101 to the 405 to the 10 freeways for nearly an hour in rush hour traffic.

Bravery On The Front Line

Roughly 1,355 firefighters from several fire departments in the Southland and around California were assigned to fight the Marek and Sesnon Fires. Firefighters staged valiant efforts against both and homeowners credited the brave men and women on the line with saving their homes and valuables.

YouReport: Marek, Sesnon Wildfires

The Marek and Sesnon fires have scorched more than 10,000 acres in the Socal area and has burned homes, structures and vehicles in it's path. The expansion of the Marek fire occurred when winds gusting at up to 70 miles per hour during the first night churned up hot embers and caused a flare-up in Lopez Canyon. The Sesnon started at Oat Mountain near Porter Ranch. There are about 2,000 firefighters from several jurisdictions battling both fires, which is also being attacked from the air by water dropping planes and helicopters. The fires prompted the closure of the 210 Freeway between the 118 Freeway and Interstate 5. The Sesnon fire is only about 5 percent contained. Authorities are describing the Marek fire as suspicious in nature.
