Celebrity Suicides

Celebrity death and murder is shocking enough. But nothing perhaps grips the public more than the tragedy that is celebrity suicide. Why do people who seemingly have everything decide that life is not worth living? What drives them to it? And could anything have been done to prevent it? Sadly, the only people who can usually answer those questions take the answers with them to the grave.

British actress Lucy Gordon, who played reporter Jennifer Dugan in "Spider-Man 3", was found dead May 21, 2009, in her Paris apartment. She would have turned 29 the following day. The actress apparently committed suicide, according to Paris police headquarters. Gordon appeared in a dozen movies including "Frost," "Serial" and "Serendipity." She also plays Jane Birkin in the the soon-to-be released biopic of British singer and actor Serge Gainsbourg.
