Bad Celebrity Career Moves

Moving to L.A. with just change in their pocket is only the beginning of career gambles actors and singers have to make. Aspiring actors can become superstars for landing the right role while A-listers drop to D-Listers for passing up a role. Turning down roles, changing their look or just plain out doing something stupid could be career suicide in Hollywood! Some saw fame pass them by forever while others were able to recover.

Tom Selleck is best known for his leading role in "Magnum P.I." a television show that lasted from 1980 to 1988. Although he was a huge television star he has yet to cross over into the major screen. His big chance was when he was casted for the role of "Indiana Jones" the same year as "Magnum P.I". He decided to honor his contract with Magnum producers and pass up playing the whip-cracking archeologist. Almost 20 years, four movies, a Disneyland ride, and a popular theme song later Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jones franchise are still money-making machines. Selleck, on the other hand, is still handsome as ever but not box office bait.
