Soupy Sales, a comedian and actor, was born Milton Supman in North Carolina. To kids in the 60's (and to their parents who maybe didn't know Sales' humor was a bit on the wild side) Sales was the wide-eyed comic who loved to take a pie in the face. He set off a dance craze with "The Soupy Shuffle" and a song fad with "Do the Mouse." He was suspended for a week for telling his young audience to go into their parent's rooms, and into their wallets, and to send him those green pieces of paper with President's faces on them. While he mostly got Monopoly money, Sales did get some money sent to him and his bosses were not amused. He died in October at 83.
