Dean Charged With Hiding Teacher-Student Affair
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
A Los Angeles Unified school administrator has received probation for withholding evidence about an affair between a colleague and a 15-year-old girl.
Alan Hubbard pleaded no contest Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court to a felony charge of being an accessory after the fact. As part of his sentence, Hubbard must also work 60 days for Caltrans.
Prosecutors say Hubbard, who was working as a dean at Foshay
Learning Center, didn't report an alleged romantic relationship
between fellow administrator Steve Thomas Rooney and a student.
Deputy District Attorney Darci Lanphere says a second felony charge, obstruction of justice, was dismissed as a result of his plea.
Rooney is awaiting an Oct. 30 trial for allegedly molesting at least three students.
