2009 Rose Parade Route Don'ts

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― The Rose Parade is a Southland New Year's Day tradition. The tips below will help ensure that you and your loved ones have a safe experience while ringing in 2009.

  • Don't move off curb to the blue honor line until after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Don't use silly string or throw anything at others.
  • Don't light fires – small barbeques 1 foot off the ground are allowed.
  • No fireworks.
  • No tents, sofas, ladders, scaffolding or boxes.
  • Alcohol is not allowed on public streets, sidewalks or in any public area. Violators can be arrested.
  • Minors – those 17 and under – must be accompanied by an adult from 10:00 p.m. Wednesday to 5:00 a.m. Thursday.
