NewMan: David, I love your stories. what is the LAUSD actually going to do to fix this problem?
Jenn: David, I've seen a bunch of stories on CBS 2 and KCAL 9 about LAUSD teachers who are in the middle of a payroll crisis. Do you think the reason some teachers aren't being paid enough (or the correct amount of money) is because of the administrators' excessive spending?
Dan0217: Do you know what kind of a budget the LAUSD is given for these credit cards? Do they have any sort of limit?
BethJ: Do you think the administrators will be reprimanded and told to pay back any money that was misspent?
KCAL9_IS_Cool: How many LAUSD administrators actually have credit cards?
Camaro1: Did you actually go through all 1,700 pages of the credit card statement?
jayn: can any one at school use card
Mrs_B: As a parent of an LAUSD child, what can I do to help this situation?
USCTroJenn: How did you find out about this story?
Jess: If merchants such as Nordstrom have already been blocked, that means the LAUSD was aware there was a problem. Why do you think they've allowed this type of spending to go on?
Michael: how did you get the credit card bills? are they public records? what was the district's reaction when you got them?
NewsJunkie: Hi. Where has the Mayor been through all this? He seems rather silent.
NewMan: What about all those stories you did on Sex Offenders? Whatever happened to those guys?
Philly: What made you get into investigative reporting?
NewsJunkie: Will people lose their jobs with this LAUSD mess? Or will there be more buck passing?
Philly: How long does it take to file a report?
Moderator: To ask David a question, please click the "Ask" button. Thanks!
Stano: Do you work with a team of producers, researchers, etc.? If so, how big is it?
DogKnight: It seems like you tick-off a lot of people in your line of work... Do you ever fear retaliation?
Public_Voice: Dont you think should eliminate the cards and require all employees to submit expense reports, then be reimbursed for expenses?
JakeS: What plans for repayment, repremand and/or criminal chagres have the fiscal managers proposed?
newshound: How do you keep your stories secret until they air?
maria21: Why is it that LAUSD is paying their employes with checks and there is no money in the bank
soccerplayer: do you have staff going around looking for stories?
Gary: Do you ever use hidden cameras? If so, is it legal?
Moderator: You can send David story ideas and tips at
djgoldstein@cbs.com.
Public_Voice: Do they run credit checks on employees before they issue the P-Card?
Jimmy: Do any of the stories you follow ever turn out to be nothing? What do you do then?
Spats: are you embarassed when you go out with a mic in your hand and approach people to ask them a question?
Philly: Are you ever shocked at how people can steal (even from kids!) without seeming to care?
Ted: Has anyone ever taken a swing at you? Is that something you look for to boost ratings?
Sam: Do you have to travel a lot?
NewsJunkie: do you swing back?
NewsJunkie: What kind of impact must a job like this have on your personal life....when do you sleep?
Shark_Bite: Do you ever plan to do an audit on LAPD's Audit Division? I heard that overtime is abused there. I even heard that staff was given overtime to attend a student worker's graduation in Rancho Cucamonga.
