3.3 Earthquake Shakes Area Near Fontana
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
A small earthquake has rattled the Los Angeles area.
The U.S. Geological Survey said in a preliminary report that the magnitude-3.3 temblor struck Friday at 1:53 a.m.
It was centered about 4 miles north west of Fontana and 44 miles east of the Los Angeles Civic Center.
The survey says the earthquake's epicenter was relatively shallow, just one-tenth of a mile below the surface.
