3.3-Magnitude Quake Shakes Near Big Bear Lake

No Damage, Injuries From Mild Earthquake

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (AP) ― A mild earthquake has struck the San Bernardino National Forest near the town of Big Bear Lake but there are no reports of damage or injuries.

A preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey says magnitude-3.3 quake hit at 6:17 a.m. Wednesday. It was centered five miles from Mount San Gorgonio and nine miles south of Big Bear.

A San Bernardino County sheriff's dispatcher in Big Bear says no problems were reported.

The quake epicenter is about 75 miles east of Los Angeles.
