3.3 Magnitude Quake Rattles Bakersfield

METTLER, Calif. (AP) ― A small earthquake has shaken the Bakersfield area, but there is no immediate word of damage or injuries.

The U.S. Geological survey says the 3.4 magnitude quake hit 20 miles south of Bakersfield one mile from the town of Mettler just after 8 p.m. Saturday night.

The Kern County Sheriff's Department says there are no reports of any injuries or damage.
