Earthquake Hits California-Mexico Border

3.7 Magnitude Quake Reported Sunday

TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) ― A 3.7-magnitude earthquake has shaken an area near the California-Mexico border but there are no reports of damage or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit at around 2:10 p.m. Sunday. It was centered in northern Baja California about 37 miles southeast from Jacumba Hot Springs in San Diego County and about 71 miles southeast from Tijuana.

The magnitude is a preliminary estimate.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department said there were no immediate reports of any problems.

Dozens of aftershocks, some of over 5.0-magnitude, have shaken the border region since a magnitude-5.4 quake on February 8th near Mexicali.
