2.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits San Dimas

Seismographs in eastern Los Angeles County detected a magnitude 2.8 earthquake around 10:32 a.m.

The quake was centered on the southeast side of San Dimas, according to the California Integrated Seismic Network.

County fire dispatchers alerted crews and battalion chiefs via county-wide radio dispatches about the small quake, which is standard procedure.

Fire crews in the hills between Pomona and San Dimas felt the quake. Fire trucks, however, were not moved out of fire stations because of the small size of the quake.

Sheriff's deputies at the San Dimas station said they did not feel the earthquake.
