Here are some of the reports sent in to our newsroom:
I heard a really large bang and my house was shaking. I ran outside and neighbors said they thought it was a sonic boom. It was really loud and I thought something really enormous had fallen on my house.
-Katy Overstreet, Ojai
I felt shaking and my 52 inch TV that I use as a computer monitor was swaying side to side in a way it never has. Sometimes Big trucks drive by and I feel vibrations but I know it a quake when an object that heavy is shifting. I went online to the usgs and found it a few minutes afterwards. I was like WOW. I felt that all the way from Ojai!
-Jason Jimenez, Northridge
A big jolt and then about 15 seonds of rumbling.
-Ari Lenett, Oxnard
Rumbling and then a hard shake.
-Deb, Camarillo
I felt one small to medium jolt that lasted for about 1 second, and then an east to west rolling for about 4 to 6 seconds. Nothing fell from shelves. Ne evidence of damage.
-Phyllis Parmenter, Camarillo
Lots of shaking and rolling! Is this the one just before the large one?
-Cyndee Miller, Ventura
Heard a noise, few secs later felt a small jolt, heard creaking.
