LUDLOW, Calif. (AP) ― A moderate earthquake has shaken a remote swath of the Mojave Desert.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 4.2-magnitude quake struck shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday near the San Bernardino County town of Ludlow, about 120 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
