At least the shaking Tuesday during the 4.1 quake (was it an aftershock?) wasn't as bad as what you reported you felt on Sunday evening. Here, a brief look at your hundreds of replies...
I felt a jolt and a rolling for about a minute.
--Lisa R., Monterey Park
I felt a slight tremble. And then I felt a quick and substansial jolt. That was it.
--Mark, Century City
I felt a quick jolt and then a small rolling.
--Sherry L., Torrance
A strong jolt! Real quick but very strong.
Jennifer C., Carson/San Pedro
It was a very short jolt. No damage here in my home in downtown Long Beach. Much shorter in duration than Sunday's quake.
--Jennifer T., Long Beach
Heard windows shaking and upstairs shaking.
Jodie H., Long Beach
I work at the Staples Center and felt a good jolt. Hopefully there won't be one during the Lakers Games.
--Chriz, Staples Center
I am on an office on the second floor. It felt like someone was shaking my chair. The noise was scary.
--Yena K., Carson
I was on the phone with a co-worker in the South Bay, she yelled 'Earthquake!' and hung up on me. A few moments later I felt a jolt. Not too bad when you're on the first floor with 25 floors above you.
--Caroline M., Century City
I'm so glad a quake was confirmed. I thought it was just me. The house rocked about 10-15 minutes ago. Not too long this time. But enough to rattle nerves again.
--Kristy, Cypress
It was strong. I got scared. I was thinking...is this the big one?
--Rob C., Torrance
I felt a jolt sitting at my computer desk. And the bunny ears fell off my TV.
--A. Carrillo, Florence
It was really crazy. I actually live in L.A., but I work in Long Beach. The quake felt really bad here. A few of the things at work fell to the floor.
--Kevin, Long Beach
I was at the computer and my wife was walking towards me. I thought it might be her but then the floor kept shaking...then we felt a small jolt and then a bigger one. Very short, about four seconds. It was enough to move the house and put a small scare in us about the big one...
--Camilo G., Compton
It was a little moving. I'm on the 23rd floor of the AT&T building.
--Gwen B., Downtown LA
I'm in our warehouse at work. All the products rattled. Felt like King Kong gave the building a good couple of shakes.
--Monya, Santa Fe Springs
I was helping my kids pick up their room. When I said 'earthquake' they all stood still but it was gone that fast. My kids said was that really a quake? But I told them no, cause I didn't want them to be scared.
--Lupe C., Long Beach
I was at work and a rumbling started at my feet. We all ducked under our desks. The lights were swaying back and forth and making a sound like fafafooey, fafafooey.
--Eaton B., Downey
I was typing on my computer at home when I heard a loud rumble and a shaking of my house. Thankfully, much shorter than Sunday's but still very scary. No visible damage. I ran outside but no one else came out their homes. I'm in Redondo Beach Riviera, near the beach, and about 9-10 miles from Hawthorne/Lennox.
--Suzanne M., Redondo Beach
I was trying on some clothes when the shirts fell over and the ceiling panels started falling. Then the mannequin fell over.
--Mark K., Huntington Beach clothing shop
I was just sitting down when the floor started moving. My mom runs out of the restroom yelling 'Earthquake!" LOL. It shook pretty good but only for a few seconds.
--Carlos G., South Gate
I own a restaurant/sports bar called Shot Kallerz. The quake broke an underground water pipe and flooded the whole place. Not good for business.
--Albert P., Lakewood
It felt like the building took a hard punch and then I felt rolling.
--Robert R., Beautiful Downtown L.A.
Felt the building shake for a second. This is not good.
--JB, Cerritos
It felt like a truck hit the house. It went on for about ten seconds. I'm a little nervous about 'the big one.'
--Jennifer P., Baldwin Hills/Village Green
We felt a sharp jolt running from South to North. So much so we thought our mobile home was going to come off its piers. Lots of stuff got knocked ocer. Everything in the shower was knocked over. Today's 4.1 was the same movement as Sunday's quake, just a bit milder. But quite a jolt as well.
Chris W., Carson
I was at Ramona Ele. with my class when we felt the whole class shake. My third graders were terrified!
Yenizel S., Hawthrone
I was at the Pacific theaters on Rosecrans Blvd. watching the Star Trek movie, suddenly the theater started shaking, almost everyone got up but before anyone got out the shaki'n stopped and everyone continued with the film.
