Officials said a small earthquake that struck in Humboldt County on Sunday was actually stronger than initial estimates.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a magnitude-3.8 temblor struck at 10:54 a.m. just south of Eureka. On Monday, scientists upgraded it to a magnitude-4.2 earthquake.
About an hour after the first quake, a magnitude-2.1 aftershock rattled the same area.
Authorities said there were no reports of injury or damage.
