Magnitude 3.7 Quake Rattles Big Bear Area

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (AP) ― A small earthquake has occurred three miles northwest of Big Bear.

The California Integrated Seismic Network said the quake registered at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday and had a preliminary magnitude of 3.7. The temblor's depth was put at eight miles.

San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Arden Wiltshire says there have been no reports of damage or injuries.

The seismic network reported a subsequent tiny quake in the same area and another to the northwest near Lucerne Valley.
