A minor earthquake has shaken Chino Hills and nearby areas of San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles counties.
A preliminary U.S. Geological Survey report said the quake occurred at 6:41 a.m. Tuesday and had a magnitude of 3.1.
The epicenter was centered two miles west of Chino Hills, six miles south of Pomona and 29 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The quake occurred at a depth of seven miles.
There were no reports of damage or injuries, a San Bernardino sheriff's dispatcher said.
A 5.4-magnitude temblor struck the area in July, leaving homes in some nearby communities with fallen bricks, cracked walls and windows, warped door frames and broken water mains and gas lines.
