Quake Rattles Big Bear Resort Area

A small earthquake shook this resort town in the San Bernardino Mountains early Wednesday, but there were no immediate reports of any damages or injuries, authorities said.

The magnitude-4.0 temblor struck shortly before 4:15 a.m., about seven miles southwest of Big Bear City, according to a preliminary report by the U.S. Geological Survey.

A dispatcher with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said there have been no reports of any damages or injuries.

Big Bear City is about 100 miles east of Los Angeles
