Police Officer's Pickup Collides With 900-Lb. Bull

BANNING, Calif. (AP) ― An off-duty Banning police sergeant was hurt and his Chevrolet Silverado was totaled when the pickup struck a 900-pound bull that wandered onto a country road.

California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Blondon says the sergeant was driving to work just before dawn Thursday when the pickup hit the bull.

The pickup flipped in a field. The police sergeant, whose name was withheld, complained of back, neck and chest pain and was taken to San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital.

The pickup is destroyed, and the bull is dead.
