Pet Tip Of The Week: Summer Safety

(CBS) Before you head out for summer fun with your pet, here are a few things to keep in mind!

Carry a gallon of cool water with you, preferably in an insulated thermos.

Look for signs of overheating, which can include heavy panting and drooling.

Never put on sunscreen that is not approved for use on animals.

Be sensitive to older and overweight pets' comfort and play earlier or later in the day when it's cooler.
