Break out the kitchen spices and get cooking this week. New research is giving us yet another reason to give curry a try. Specifically, the herb turmeric, (curcumin), has been shown to help protect the heart muscle in a recent study. Turmeric has demonstrated powerful antioxidant activity, and research has confirmed a possible preventative role for turmeric in helping prevent certain cancers, Alzheimer's disease and arthritis, to name a few.
