Teams Targeted For Planned SoCal NFL Stadium
(AP)
The developers of a proposed 75,000-seat stadium east of Los Angeles say they are casting a wide net in their search for a team to play at the venue.
Majestic Realty Co. managing partner John Semcken said Thursday, a day after a state Senate vote allowed the stadium's construction, that the company was targeting seven teams from coast to coast.
He says the Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers all need new stadiums but are having trouble getting them built in their current towns.
Semcken says Majestic will start approaching teams about a possible move after the Super Bowl.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger must still sign the state Senate's bill allowing the stadium's construction.
