Passengers of a Las Vegas-bound Delta Airlines flight will get refunds after their plane was delayed on a New York airport tarmac for more than seven hours - before the flight was canceled.
Delta spokesman Kent Landers tells the Daily News that thunderstorms delayed flights on all airlines. He says passengers are usually returned to the gate, but was unable to explain why passengers aboard the flight were made to wait on the plane.
The Delta flight scheduled to depart from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 10:30 a.m. Sunday was canceled sometime after 5:30 p.m.
Landers says the airline will refund passengers and make new arrangements for them to continue their travels.
