NewsCentral viewers sure know how to cook! Here are the three winning recipes, cooked by Jackie Johnson and Amelia Earhart during our annual Thanksgiving webcast.
Pumpkin Rolls by Rosie A. of Santa Ana
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
3 medium eggs
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
3/4 cup flour
2/3 cup pumpkin (from a solid pack can)
Filling:
8 oz. cream cheese
2 tablespoons soft butter
1 cup powered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix Together the sugar, eggs, cinnamon powder, flour and pumpkin. Butter cookie sheet, then line with wax paper and butter again. Pour batter in pan and sprinkle with chopped peacans. Cook for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Lay out dish towel and cover with powdered suger. Flip dough onto it gently, roll in towel and set aside to cool for 15-20 minutes. Then unroll onto tin foil and fill. Then roll with hand wrap in foil.
Green Bean Caesar by Karen P. of Hollywood
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans (can use frozen or canned )
1 tablespoon of vinegar
2 tablespoon of minced onions
One or two cloves of garlic, chopped
2 tablespoon of butter or margarine
2 tablespoons of dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese, grated
sprinkle of paprika
Prepare and cook fresh green breans about an hour or until tender. If using can or frozen breen beans place green beans in a 2 quart casserole dish with vinegar, minced onions and one or two cloves of garlic, chopped, in skillet. Melt butter, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese until crusty. Place over green bean mixture, and sprinkle with Paprika. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and cook for approximately 20 25 minutes.
Broccoli Rice Cheese Casserole by Gloria M. of Burbank
Ingredients:
One 10 oz. package of frozen chopped broccoli
One 28 oz. package of frozen broccoli florets (cut into smaller pieces)
1 stick of butter or margarine
One 10 oz. can of cream of chicken soup
One 15 oz. jar of Kraft Cheez Whiz
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups cooked white rice
Cook rice as directed - set aside. Saute onion with stick of butter until clear, using low heat, add frozen broccoli to butter & onion. Add can of cream of chicken and Cheez Whiz. Keep stirring until blended. Add 2 cups cooked white rice and pour it into a baking dish. Bake covered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees and uncovered for an additional 30 minutes. Serves 8 people.
