Homeless To Paris Art Gallery: William Laga's Saga

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― One woman looked beyond one man's mental illness to the artistic brilliance hidden inside.

When we first bought you this story -- this past June -- we saw art patron Marcelle Danan spending her Mondays with William Laga, helping this long-ignored painter bring his genius to life.

This moving story mirrors that of the movie "The Soloist", the film about a real-life journalist who discovers a brilliant, but schizophrenic musician, who lives on the streets of Los Angeles.

Laga was homeless. Needing help.

Not only did Danan get Laga off the streets of LA, she started talking up his art...internationally. Pat Harvey went to Paris to see how Laga's works were being received in the City of Lights.
