LA Animal Services To Have 'Adoptathon'

The combination of a housing crisis in Los Angeles and animals lost following 4th of July celebrations has created a perfect storm of too many animals at the city's shelters.

In response, L.A. Animal Services is holding a special Pet Adoptathon at all its Animal Care Centers on Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Dogs and cats will be available for adoption at an unprecedented low price of $43 for a dog and $28 for a cat, a savings of more than 60% savings off regular adoption fees.

During this event, these low adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations and in the case of dogs a license.
