Westlake Woman Wounded In Drive-By Shooting

LOS ANGELES A woman was shot and wounded Friday in a drive-by attack in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, police said.

The woman, in her 20s, was walking in the 3000 block of Leeward Avenue about 1 a.m. when she was shot, said Officer April Harding of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations office.

The woman was taken to a hospital for surgery, Harding said. Her condition was not immediately known. There were no arrests.
