A 69-year-old woman who reportedly told her husband she was going to leave him was stabbed to death, and the 72-year-old husband is under arrest, a police spokesperson said Sunday.

The stabbing attack in the 300 block of South Commonwealth Avenue, in the Westlake District, occurred at about 7 a.m., said Los Angeles police spokesperson Julianne Sohn.

The victim died at the scene, said Sohn.

Police were still at the scene near Vermont Avenue and Third Street at midmorning.
