Marine Rescue Group Warns Boaters Of Wayward Whale

MARINA DEL REY (AP) ― A marine rescue group urged boaters to steer clear of a 20-foot wayward whale hanging out in the marina on its way up the coast for its annual migration.

The California gray has been exploring the busy harbor at Marina del Rey for the past two weeks. The whale recently ventured out into the Santa Monica Bay, but returned to the manmade marina's shallow waters.

The Marine Animal Rescue was concerned about the recreational boat traffic in the marina and is working with the Coast Guard to broadcast alerts.
